John in his own words...
Hello, welcome to my website, the home of John Driscoll Photography.
Well what can I tell you about me? Male, 42, GSOH, WLTM... hold on a minute, this isn't Tinder or Match!
I'm John. I met the love of my life Alison in the summer 2014 and after a whirlwind romance, we married in spring 2016. I have a 13 year old daughter, Izzy and I'm delighted to say that Alison & I have been blessed with little Ava-Mae in April this year. With Alison in and out of hospital with preeclampsia for weeks it was no walk in the park and Ava-Mae arrived safely allbeit early at 34wks and only weighing 3lb 14. So if a house full of 3 females wasn't enough, we also have an adorable female cat, Gongsty aka Gangsta Cat. (Ask Alison about the name!)
Alison and Izzy would be able to tell you that I've taken photographs for as long as I can remember and a camera has never been far away.
I feel honoured and privileged to be able to create images that will capture memories for a lifetime. Anyone can pick up a camera and shoot at will, or 'spray and pray' as I like to call it but it takes a photographer to capture the interaction of emotions.
Why choose me?
Well? Why not!...in all seriousness...
Photography has always been a passion. I love what I do. I love taking photographs, I love creating images. I love capturing emotions and the interaction between couples, families, children, babies (and even animals who seem to be more in demand recently!) My passion for photography comes through in the images I create.
Money is not my motivation. My prices are set fairly conservatively as a result. Some cynics could suggest low prices equals low quality work but feel free to take a look at my work and see for yourself, it couldn't be any further from the truth. My clients love my images. Take a look at the recommendations page to see for yourself.
Away from photography, I enjoy(ed) running and cycling. (Well I did, until I got injured a couple of years ago!) I have run 6 marathons (including Paris, Amsterdam, Brighton and London) and I've also cycled the iconic London to Paris route as well as cycling London to Brussels via Amsterdam. My medals hang pride of place at home, I'm proud of my achievements and I managed to raise a good few £000s for charity in the process. More recently, I'm resigned to walking a lot more than running but I still enjoy the fresh air, even better when I can take my camera too. I've also been blessed in becoming an Uncle to 2 year old Joshua and 1 year old Sienna in recent times, so just spending time with them has been very rewarding.
I hope you like what you see and I very much look forward to working with you in the future...
